Alright, I have a small bit of information on this photo so before you ask, read on.
Alright, I am on Charlie, the grey Percheron. He's 7 years old and stands 17.3 hands and still growing. My co-worker, Iris, is riding Duke, the chestnut Belgian. Duke's 14 years old and stands 18.3 hands. I'm a good 5' 9" and so is Iris. Now the small bit that's the most important here is the fact that the black horse, a Friesian/Morgan mare, is an above-average sized horse. She's about 16 hands tall. An average sized Quarter Horse is normally around 15 hands tall. The fact that Duke and Charlie are so LARGE make the mare look midgeted but on the contrary, she's preety big up close too. lol
You sure the percheron is 7 years old? If he is, he shouldn't still be growing. I breed percherons and all of mine are done by 5 or 6. Their bones shouldn't still be fusing at 7. o_o
I'm very sure he's still growing. Within the last year we've had him, he's grown an inch and a half and has definetly widened out. He used to be a little leggy but now he's slowly starting to look more and more like a draft horse. Normally, draft horses such as Percherons, Belgians, and Clydesdales, don't stop growing until around 8 years old. It takes much longer for these larger horses to finish growing compared to your average-sized horses such as Quarter Horses and Appaloosas which normally take up to 6 years to completely stop growing.
